PCYS Player Development Program
PCYS is hosting 2010 training. These sessions will concentrate on the technical attributes of the game, focusing primarily on the players themselves.
The PCYS board has voted to offer free player development for members of our club. The board has agreed to fund court time for training at The Sentry Sports Center. This training will be offered for 10 weeks of indoor training on Sundays then will be moving to outdoor training on Fridays.

Classic Soccer
Classic teams participate in the Central Wisconsin Soccer League (CWSL). CWSL offers league play for U10-U19 co-ed and girl teams.  A Classic team is composed of local players interested in advancing their skills through training and higher competition. <Details>
*The annual Parent/Player Meeting for all Competitive Soccer families is on Monday, January 18th at 530-830pm at the Sentry Theater, 1800 N Point Dr, Stevens Point.

Fields, Equipment, and Safety
*PCYS Spring Clean-Up is Saturday, April 18th, 2009 from 1PM-5P (rain day is April 19th).
*PCYS Complex is being RESEEDED on May 2nd, 2009. *All Fields will be closed until May 18th. 

Coaches
Just a reminder that various coaching education courses are available online.

ODP (Olympic Development Program)
The WYSA ODP Developmental program for birth years 1995 and 1996 is now open for registration. The ODP Developmental program includes 5 district training session and an all district training session. The program is broken up into 4 districts (Madison, Metro Milwaukee, Appleton-Green Bay and Central WI (Stevens Point). Room Tax Committee opting to fund the $142,000 construction of a parking lot...
A proposal from Portage County Youth Soccer drew the largest sum, with the committee opting to fund the $142,000 construction of a parking lot, lights and fencing for a facility in 2007 and put $25,000 toward a grandstand in 2009. One member remarked the project "epitomized the room tax fund," due in part to the likelihood that tournaments will provide sizable revenue sources.

September is Youth Soccer Month
WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin (September 1, 2009) – Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has proclaimed September as Youth Soccer Month. “This Proclamation by Governor Doyle encourages us in all we do for the soccer players and their families in Wisconsin”, says Peter Mariahazy, President of the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.  Youth Soccer Month is dedicated to increasing awareness of the benefits of playing Youth Soccer in America.
