Soccer
Classic teams participate in the Central
Wisconsin Soccer League (CWSL). CWSL offers league play for U10-U19 co-ed and girl teams.
A Classic team is composed of local players interested in advancing their
skills through training and higher competition. <Details>
The
Competitive Committee will have representatives at the complex:
Tuesday- August 3rd and Thursday- August 5th, during Rec Games to answer
questions and give information/sign up forms for the 2010-11 Classic soccer
season.
Recreational League
If you are

Recreational soccer is played at the Soccer complex on 701 Badger
Ave, Stevens Point.

Goal Keepers
and Strikers
Eric Wiberg of Portage County Youth Soccer
has created a Goalkeeper Development Program, available to all soccer
players. Eric Wiberg's web site

information. This is a great opportunity to get exposed to
excellent keeper coaching! You should know that there are two 3-day
camps being held right at PCYS the week before our coed tournament, and these camps will
give you a great opportunity to improve your skills (join other players who are
coming from across the state to get this training).
June 22 - 24, 2010: The 4th annual
"Camp Shutout Road Show - SP"
will be held in Stevens Point, WI. We are anticipating 80 keepers in attendance

Camp is being held at the same time
and at the same facility as the Road Show! This camp will offer superb training
and instruction specifically for the striker position; keepers and strikers are
the two hardest positions to fill in soccer.

PCYS Player
Development Program
PCYS is hosting 2010 training. These sessions will
concentrate on the technical attributes of the game, focusing primarily on the
players themselves. The
PCYS board has voted to offer free player development for members of our club.
The board has agreed to fund court time for training at The Sentry Sports
Center. This training will be offered for 10 weeks of indoor training on Sundays
then will be moving to outdoor training on Fridays. ...Click

ODP Developmental program includes 5 district training session and an all
district training session. The program is broken up into 4 districts (Madison,

Tax Committee opting to fund the $142,000 construction of a parking lot...
A proposal from Portage County Youth Soccer drew the largest sum, with the
committee opting to fund the $142,000 construction of a parking lot, lights and
fencing for a facility in 2007 and put $25,000 toward a grandstand in 2009.
One
member remarked the project "epitomized the room tax fund," due in
part to the likelihood that tournaments will provide sizable revenue sources.

is Youth Soccer Month
WEST ALLIS, Wisconsin (September 1, 2009) – Wisconsin Governor Jim
Doyle has proclaimed September as Youth Soccer Month. “This Proclamation
by Governor Doyle encourages us in all we do for the soccer players and their
families in Wisconsin”, says Peter Mariahazy, President of the Wisconsin Youth
Soccer Association.
Youth Soccer Month is dedicated to
increasing awareness of the benefits of playing Youth Soccer in America.
